Announcing: we have reached our goal of funding the new John Salvendy Group Practitioner Award!
Thanks to many for your generous contributions, which have been matched by Dr. Eric Jackman to bring this award to our group therapy practitioner community.
The Salvendy Practitioner Development Award is open to clinical practitioners with a minimum of two years of active practice; interested in expanding their understanding of and skills in group therapy through learning opportunities such as experiential or didactic training workshops or mentor/supervisor sessions. Group psychotherapy should be, or is intended to become, an integral element of their practice.
This award has been established in the name of the first president (1980-1982) of the Canadian Group Psychotherapy Association, Dr. John T. Salvendy. Through the Salvendy Development Award, the Canadian Group Psychotherapy Foundation aims to encourage his values of continuous learning among Canadian practitioners of group psychotherapy.
