CHÉOS investigators have abstracts at conferences across North America and Europe this fall. Please visit our website for a list of abstracts being presented. Check back often for new information.
Conference on mental health and addiction
CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Joseph Puyat discussed his research on mental health treatment rates at b4stage4, a conference on mental health and addiction hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association. The three-day event took place in Victoria from November 28 to 30.
CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Kamran Shojania is the principal investigator for the Vancouver site of the Abatacept for the Treatment of Relapsing, Non-Severe, Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (ABROGATE) Trial. Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) – previously called Wegener’s granulomatosis – is a rare, treatable disease that causes inflammation of the blood vessels. This inflammation, also known as vasculitis, can destroy the affected vessels.
This large, multi-centred international clinical trial is testing the effectiveness of abatacept (typically used for treating rheumatoid arthritis) at preventing GPA relapse.
Please save March 15 to 18 as the dates for this year’s Heart + Lung Health FEST.
Hosted by the Institute for Heart and Lung Health, FEST 2017 will offer participants the opportunity to hear from top experts, present their posters, network with like-minded professionals, and celebrate successes in research and knowledge.
