The HOpe Centre Mental Health Breakfast events occur every other Friday between 8:00 and 9:00 am at the Greta & Robert H.N. Ho Psychiatry & Education Centre (The HOpe Centre) at LGH. The breakfasts are designed to share innovative mental health research and care knowledge with healthcare providers, people with lived experience of mental health conditions, fa milies and the wider community.
Dr. Erin Michalak, Academic Lead for the breakfast series, and the event’s Steering Committee, would love your feedback. This survey will take no more than 5 minutes to complete, and your answers will help make the topics at Mental Health Breakfasts as applicable as possible, and ensure the needs of participants are met.

Introducing Erin Michalak
Dr. Erin Michalak, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, is pleased to announce her new role as Academic Lead for the HOpe Centre Mental Health Breakfasts.
Her background is in psychology, with a PhD awarded from the University of Wales College of Medicine in the United Kingdom. Her research interests are in bipolar disorder, quality of life, Community Based Participatory Research, knowledge exchange, self-management and ehealth/mhealth. She has published over 80 scientific articles and several books and book chapters.
Erin takes over this role from Dr. Apu Chakraborty, who spearheaded the successful HOpe Mental Health Breakfast speaker series in collaboration with Jo-Anne MacDougall, Manager of the HOpe Café, Kelty Dennehy Mental Health Resource Centre and CMHA North and West Vancouver Branch. The role is part of her responsibilities to foster mental health research in the Coastal Community of Care in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI).
