The PGE Scholarly Activity and Research Committee (cochaired by Drs. Elton Ngan and Raymond Lam) has now finalized the practical aspects of the scholarly activity/research project that is now a Royal College requirement for the current PGY1 and PGY2 residents and future residents.
Residents are expected to complete a project (which can be a case report with literature review, a systematic review, or a quality assurance/education/research project), including a presentation and a final written report, before the end of PGY5.
Important documents regarding the Scholarly Activity Project (PGE Policy, Objectives, Resident Checklist, Project Abstract Form – also online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZGYLG7N) are now uploaded to the Atheneum site (check keywords: scholarly activity, research, policy). These documents are also attached to this email.
The PGE expects that many (if not most) of the supervisors for this resident project will be from the clinical faculty. The Committee would like you to complete a brief Needs Assessment survey to get your opinion about what resources and professional development are needed to support you as a project supervisor. You may either complete this survey anonymously or choose to give your name so that we know if you are interested in being a scholarly activity supervisor or if you would like more information.
