Congratulations to CHÉOS Scientist Dr. John Staples, who has received a 2017 Investigator Award from the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute!
This two-year award allows Dr. Staples to explore whether the risk of a motor vehicle crash is heightened after an emergency department visit for syncope. Syncope is the medical term for fainting and is responsible for one per cent of all North American emergency department visits.
The Clinical and Systems Transformation Project evaluation team, including CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Beth Snow, created a video explaining the differences and similarities between evaluation, performance measurement, quality improvement, and research.
