  •  Responsible for the operational management of the Department’s Education Programs (UGE, PGE and SSP Programs)
  • Provides Senior level operational oversight for the PGE Program
  • Responsible for the implementation and evaluation of new initiatives in the Education Programs

  • Coordinates and tracks student rotations, seminars, evaluations, attendance, distributes teaching and orientation materials
  • Prepares and submits payment tracking sheets for didactic teaching for Year 3 and electives for Year 4 on a quarterly basis
  • Distributes and collects End of Rotation exams from all sites (VFMP, NMP, IMP, SMP and Integrated Clerkship Programs)

  •  Provides support, planning, and coordination to PGE Subspecialty Residency Programs (Forensic, Geriatric, and Child Psychiatry)

  • Coordinates workshops, special events including catering, room bookings, agendas, etc
  • Prepares documentation for processing clinical teaching payments for Year 3 on a quarterly basis

Rooms

We maintain a reservation schedule for many of the seminar and meeting rooms in Detwiller Pavilion, at the UBC Pt. Grey campus.  Please check availability online at http://www.bookking.ca/bkubcppub/calendars/facilities/index.asp, before submitting your requests to psyt.bookings@ubc.ca (604-822-7314 in the event you don’t have access to e-mail). Bookings are only processed once per work day, so please book at least 24 hours in advance.

If you are a regularly book rooms and would like to make online requests, please e-mail Psychiatry.IT@ubc.ca, to have a “Scheduling Module” account created.  A manual can be downloaded by clicking here.

Audio-Visual

We have a loan-out pool of data (PowerPoint) projectors, notebook computers, projection screens, flip charts and other AV equipment. Please submit your requests to psyt.bookings@ubc.ca (or call 604-822-7314 in the event you don’t have access to e-mail). Bookings are only processed once per work day, so please book at least 24 hours in advance.

Psychiatry IT staff will deliver and support the AV equipment, within Detwiller Pavilion.  Users must arrange their own delivery, technical support and return, of equipment, from other buildings.  Technical support from Psychiatry IT staff may be limited, for equipment used in other buildings.

Charges

Organizations, other than UBC, Dept. of Psychiatry, may be charged for room and A/V rental . Bookings, changes or cancellations, made less than 48 hours (weekends and holidays excluded) in advance of the first event, will be charged a 50% penalty, in addition to any applicable regular charges. “No-shows” will always be charged at full rental rates.
