Psychiatry IT is currently testing and configuring systems, so that we can introduce Windows 10, to the Department. We have begun compiling some tips, to help you get going.
Windows 8.1 became our default operating system in Fall 2013. In order for our existing management systems to work and to make the transition easier for users of older Windows operating systems, your computer will go to the traditional desktop, after you log on. Touch screen users should drag up, from the bottom edge of the screen, to enter your logon username and passphrase. Psychiatry IT has prepared some Windows 8.1 tips, to help you get going. We will no longer support it or allow it on our network, after January 10, 2023.
Windows 7 Professional is still available for installation on your computers, by request. It will be activated, when you receive your computer, but must have periodic UBC network access to remain active. We will no longer support it or allow it on our network, after January 14, 2020.
Windows Vista was introduced by Microsoft in April 2008 and installed on Departmental computers from February 2009 to September 2010, this is the oldest version of Windows that we currently support. We will no longer support it or allow it on our network, after April 11, 2017.
