Information Technology
We provide full computer support to users of computers, on our secured (D_Psychiatry) network. We do not support Hospital computers or UBC IT systems. Our resources are directed to keeping the most people working productively, now and in the future. It is balanced between the following demands:
- Proactive Security (anti-virus, security updates, border security, client education, group policy, account and access management)
- Data availability and integrity (shared file storage, backup & archiving)
- Resolving reported issues
- Networked printers/copiers (setup, client access, maintenance and billing data)
- Planning (computer standards, new software roll-outs, new systems/procedures & cost reduction)
- Inventory (Purchasing, inventory, license agreements & disposal)
- System configuration/setup (new, rebuilt, re-allocation & disposal)
- Client training
- Web and e-mail lists
Please click an item in the left menu, for more details. When items in the left menu don't seem to provide the help that you require, try shutting down and restarting your computer, before contacting Technical Support.

Technical Support
|
We provide initial network connectivity assistance but otherwise don’t support computers that aren’t “locked down”. Computers where the end user has administrator rights need far more support, which we don’t have time for, because people tend to install trojan and unlicensed software etc. Please contact your choice of contractor. We may charge 4+ hours of labour to return a Self Supported computer to Supported status. |
