As you may know, UBC’s Information Technology department (UBC IT) has recently been in contact with Deans, Associate Deans, and Department Heads regarding UBC’s Interchange email system. Interchange has had a series of outages and there are concerns about its ongoing stability. UBC IT’s Client Services group will be working with Departments that still have Interchange accounts to develop a migration plan to a new email platform.
We are preparing Psychiatry now for our upcoming Interchange mailbox migration to the new Faculty & Staff email service (FASmail). Most of our mailbox migrations will begin during the week of September 26, 2011. You will receive an email a day prior to your mailbox migration with instructions on how to access the new email service and reconfigure your email application.
More information is available on the UBC IT email project website at http://it.ubc.ca/projects/strategicprojects/ubc-email.html
If you have questions, please contact the UBC IT Service Centre at 604-822-9100. It they are unable to answer your questions, they will forward them to Psychiatry Technical Support.
