Re: SSHRC Partnership Grant – Letter of Intent (SSHRC PG LOI)
The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (www.sshrc.ca) has announced the Partnership Grant funding competition with a letter of intent deadline of Feb 15, 2013.
The SPARC Office will be coordinating institutional host letters. These letters will be signed by John Hepburn for all UBC locations.
Eligibility requires cash and/or in-kind commitment. SPARC has negotiated with the VP, Research and International Office, a cash commitment of $1 for every $2 secured from other UBC sources, up to a maximum of $20K per year. For example, if the PI receives cash commitment from the Dept Head for $10K per year and $16K per year from the Faculty ADR/Dean, the VPRIO will commit $13K (=$26K/2) cash per year if funded. This commitment may range from 4 to 7 years depending on the duration of the proposal. Therefore, PIs may be approaching you to discuss cash and in-kind commitment levels. Please note, the VPRIO will not be matching in-kind commitments from other UBC sources.
