LOI Deadline: June 7, 2013
Do you have an idea for a research question that requires the attention of some of the world’s best minds, a question whose ambitious scope and depth will spark transformative inquiry? This is your opportunity to work with CIFAR to create an interdisciplinary global research network of leading researchers to address a question of great importance to humanity and create vital links between research and society.
For the first time, CIFAR is expanding its portfolio of research programs through an open call for ideas. We invite leading researchers to submit proposals for creating a research network that will address a complex challenge of global importance.
CIFAR welcomes Letters of Intent (LOIs) from either individual researchers or small groups. The research must be foundational in nature and sufficiently bold, ambitious and complex to require sustained collaboration from an outstanding network that is both international and interdisciplinary. Areas of inquiry can draw on disciplinary expertise from anywhere across the spectrum, from the natural, health and social sciences, to the humanities. Its ultimate aim should be to fuel significant progress and/or a fundamental change in our collective understanding of an important issue.

Have your say – BC health research strategy survey now open
MSFHR is facilitating a process to develop a health research strategy for British Columbia. It is looking for input from a wide range of individuals to help shape the strategy. One element of the multi-pronged consultation process is an online survey that ideally will be completed by as many stakeholders as possible.
The survey is open from May 29 through June 12 and should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. In particular, feedback is being sought from health researchers, research users, and research supporters. If you aren’t familiar with the health research strategy, you can learn more at www.bchealthresearchstrategy.ca.
