Call for instructors for Psychiatry Clinical Skills II
With the ongoing expansion of our medical school we need your help more than ever! We are urgently looking for an instructor for our final March and April dates.
Psychiatry Clinical Skills II is a 4 week seminar series with 6 or 7 second-year medical students. The course is designed to teach them the fundamentals of the clinical interview. Each session will last 3-1/2 hours (1:00-4:30) on four consecutive Wednesdays:
Wednesdays March 19, 26, April 2, 9
Instructors will be remunerated for 18 hrs of teaching (14 hours of scheduled teaching plus 4 additional hours for marking, one hour per session). Clinical faculty will be compensated for “teaching without patient care” in accordance with the “UBC Clinical Faculty 2010 – 2013 Compensation Terms”, which you should have received by email from the Dean on December 06, 2010. The 18 hrs of teaching a seminar are credited as 36 hours for purposes of UBC accreditation in recognition of the increased workload compared to bedside student teaching.
Seminars can be held at VGH, St Paul’s, UBC, Richmond General Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital – basically we‘ll send the students to wherever you and the patients are. Patients for the interviews will be recruited from the inpatient psychiatric units.
If you are interested in participating in this course please email Ms. Justine Cochrane email@example.com for more information, or to sign up.
