The talk is followed by a complimentary wine and cheese.
Dr. Timothy Murphy’s lab studies the structure-function of brain circuits in relation to stroke. Using high resolution imaging of individual synapses and sensorimotor circuits in live mice, they derive insight into mechanisms of initial stroke damage and stroke recovery. They are currently focusing on how sensory and motor circuits compensate after stroke. In addition, the lab monitors oxidative stress and ionic disturbances in vivo, and tests novel antioxidant treatments during stroke.
