CMMT introduces new Gene Therapy event
Everyone is invited to join Dr. Elizabeth Simpson for the inaugural meeting of “Gene-Therapy BC” on Friday, May 30, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. in Room 3027. It will feature a Meeting Report on the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ASGCT) conference. Subsequent meetings will be held on the last Friday of each month.

Leadership update for UBC Medical Genetics
Dr. Carolyn Brown has stepped down from her position as Head of the UBC Department of Medical Genetics due to personal health reasons as of April 30, 2014. Dr. Brown has also resigned from her administrative position within BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre. She will remain as a Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at UBC.
UBC’s Genetic Counselling program celebrates 100th graduate
The UBC Masters Program in Genetic Counselling is graduating its 100th student this spring. Created in 1996, UBC’s program is the largest one of only four in Canada.
