Opportunity for a Psychiatrist at the Provincial Assessment Center in Burnaby
The Provincial Assessment Centre (PAC) is a unique tertiary care service, funded by the crown corporation, Community Living BC (CLBC). A designated Mental Health Facility, comprehensive assessments are provided for the most complex dually diagnosed, (individuals with developmental disabilities and psychiatric conditions), in the province.
PAC’s vision, “Finding solutions for good lives”, is achieved through a variety of skilled experts who collaboratively work to assess and support admitted individuals over a maximum of ninety days. The length of stay allows for a complete and comprehensive team assessment of the individual’s needs in all domains. Our consulting/clinical team incorporates psychiatrists, psychologists, developmental pediatrician and geneticist, neuropsychiatrist, physicians, pharmacologist, nursing, occupational therapists, behaviourist, social worker, art/music therapist, dietitian, director, and an administrative support team.
As a psychiatrist you will have the opportunity to influence clinical decisions and direct patient care throughout the inpatient assessment, while practicing with a collaborative multi-disciplinary team. Through our team’s expertise and continual learning, PAC strives to achieve a Centre of Excellence in the field of dual diagnosis.
