With support from BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Child & Family Research Institute is launching an exciting new initiative to develop future leaders in child health research. Exceptional research trainees will have the opportunity to generate innovative research under the mentorship of world-class researchers based at CFRI and BC Children’s Hospital.
The Scholars of Excellence Program will attract new talent to CFRI, and build on the breadth of global children’s and women’s health expertise on the Oak Street Campus.
What funding is available?
The program provides scholars with a generous stipend of $70,000/year for 3 – 5 years, plus University of British Columbia benefits (Extended Health Plan, Dental Plan and Employee and Family Assistance Program), and up to $5,000 for moving expenses. In the first two years, additional funds are available for research-related expenses ($10,000/year) and travel expenses to attend conferences ($3,000/year).
Who is eligible?
We welcome applicants with an exceptional track record who have completed their PhD or MD less than three years from the program start date (September 2015 – January 2016).
