Type 2 Diabetes Overtakes Type 1 in Young People

New research by CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Nadia Khan and her colleagues shows that Type 2 diabetes has drastically increased in people under 30, even surpassing Type 1 diabetes. The study findings, published on January 28 in Diabetic Medicine, garnered interest from local media outlets, including CBC Vancouver, The Vancouver Sun, Global B.C., and Fairchild Television.

Dr. Aslam Anis visits London

CHÉOS Director Dr. Aslam Anis is working as a visiting researcher at the Office of Health Economics (OHE) in London, England, for the month of February. While in the United Kingdom, Dr. Anis will be working with Adrian Towse, Director of the OHE, and other members. Read more about Dr. Anis’ visit on our website.

Call for Abstracts: Heart + Lung FEST 2015

Students are invited to submit their poster abstracts in order to present their poster during the Scientific Symposium at this year’s Heart + Lung Health FEST, which takes place March 25 to 28 in Vancouver.

A maximum of 50 abstracts will be accepted for poster presentations. Posters previously presented at other events may be submitted for FEST. For more information and submission guidelines, please visit the FEST website. The abstract submission deadline is March 2, 2015.
