Hope Centre Clinical Day Friday April 24th

HOpe Centre Mental Health Clinical Research Day

Date: Friday, April 24th, 2015

Time: 12:00pm – 6:30pm

Location: Lions Gate Hospital Auditorium (basement)

Cost: Free- includes a light lunch and refreshments

Please join us at Lions Gate Hospital for an informative and clinically useful educational program, including a virtual tour of the new HOpe Centre, a mental health facility operated jointly by UBC and Vancouver Coastal Health.

The two educational sessions will focus on new research findings in mental health that are directly applicable to clinical practice, and provide information about mental health projects on the Northshore of Vancouver.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Glenda MacQueen (University of Calgary) who will be sharing the lessons learned on building capacity for integrated research, care, and education.

Free Public Lecture: All interested individuals are welcome to attend the free public lecture (5:00-6:30pm) presented by Dr. Erin Michalak and Kerry Dennehey who will be discussing mental health care and support services

*Physicians for this event will be charged $50 for registration fees. (MOC Section 1 & Mainpro M1 credits- to be advised)

Who would benefit from attending this event?

Identified target audience: Psychiatrists doing research in mental health and/or treating patients with psychiatric illness.

Additional attendees: other clinicians (family physicians, psychologists, counselors, mental health care providers, etc.), other health professionals (nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, etc.), medical residents and students, fellows, graduate students, and research staff working in the area of mental health.
