Changes to Videoconferencing at C&W

To UBC videoconferencing room users at Children’s and Women’s Hospital,

We are writing to announce two changes regarding videoconferencing (VC) at Children’s and Women’s Hospital (C&W):

UBC VC rooms – Audio-Visual (AV) Support

The UBC Faculty of Medicine operates under a standardized support model for its VC rooms around the province – onsite MedIT/Telehealth AV technician support and/or remote support provided by the MedIT Service Desk. Effective May 1, 2015, we will introduce this standardized support model at C&W. As such:

  • two on site MedIT/Telehealth technicians will be available to provide in room support to rooms CSB V2-222, SHY D308 and Chan 2111 (the Chan Centre);
  • the MedIT Service Desk will continue to provide remote support to rooms CSB V2-220, CSB V2-221, SHY E404, SHY E409, SHY F414 and H214.

If you require assistance in any of the aforementioned rooms, the MedIT Service Desk can be contacted Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at medit.servicedesk@ubc.ca or 1.877.266.0666.

Chan Centre (Auditorium) – VC Booking

The processing of VC booking requests for the Chan Centre is being transitioned to the UBC FoM Room Booking team, which already provides this service for UBC FoM VC rooms on site.  This will enable UBC and CFRI to provide a more centralized and seamless service for VC bookings. Clients interested in booking the Chan Centre for VC events are now asked to submit their request by filling out the UBC FoM Room Request Form.

Please note this change does not apply CFRI room 3113 – please continue to contact the CFRI Room Booker for VC bookings in room 3113.

If you need assistance with your VC booking or have any questions about this change, please contact the FoM Room Booking team at roombooking.fom@ubc.ca or 604-875-4111 ext. 62381.

Thank you,
