CPA Junior Investigator Research Colloquium
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS EXTENDED
It has come to light that the CPA Junior Investigator Colloquium call for submissions was not received by all psychiatry residents in a timely manner. The CPA received a request from residents and program directors to extend the deadline and has agreed do so.
Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, May 20 at midnight.
Successful candidates receive a $500 stipend, collectable upon attendance.
Psychiatry Residents and Fellows are encouraged to apply for the 2015 CPA Junior Investigator Research Colloquium to be held on Friday, October 2, 2015. Sponsored by the Canadian Psychiatric Association and organized by the CPA Research Committee, this small, all day workshop brings together 18 junior investigators (psychiatry residents and fellows who are on the path towards a successful clinician-scientist career) together with Canadian psychiatrist mentors who have led nationally funded research programs and mentored junior faculty members.
2015 mentors include:
Colloquium Co-Chairs, Dr. Jitender Sareen, University of Manitoba and Dr. Phil Tibbo, Dalhousie University with:
- Dr. Kathy Aitchison, University of Alberta
2. Dr. Elliot Goldner, Simon Fraser University
3. Dr. Scott Patten, University of Alberta
4. Dr. Gustavo Turecki, McGill University
5. Dr. Lakshmi Yatham, University of British Columbia
6. Dr. Rudolf Uher, Dalhousie University
The Colloquium will be held during the CPA Annual Conference in Vancouver. Junior investigators will obtain feedback on past, current and future research, receive information about various aspects of the research process and have the opportunity to create research networks. Residents and fellows with an interest and potential in developing research careers in psychiatry are encouraged to apply.
