The Stemmler Fund provides support for research and development in innovative evaluation methodologies or techniques, with the potential to advance assessment in medical education or practice. Both pilots and more comprehensive projects are of interest. Collaborative investigations within or among institutions are eligible and encouraged.
On May 11, CHÉOS DirectorDr. Aslam Anis(right) presented at Research Canada’s Health Research Caucus. The annual event, held in Ottawa, brings together Canada’s leading researchers with parliamentarians for an exchange of ideas. This year’s theme was “Global Health Research and Innovation.” Dr. Anis discussed antiretroviral therapy for persons living with HIV/AIDS as part of the session on “Mitigating the Burden of Infectious Disease.”
CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Beth Snow recently presented with Katie Tweedie from Fraser Health Authority on “Including Marginalized Patients in Health Care Services Planning” at the Knowledge Translation Canada Annual Scientific Meeting, which took place on May 11 and 12.
PhD Candidate Kirsten Marchand and MSc Candidate Heather Palis are representing CHÉOS at the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) Annual Meeting, which takes place in Vancouver from May 25–28.
Ms. Palis received a CIHR-CPHA Population and Public Health Student Award for her abstract. Both Ms. Marchand and Palis have received scholarships from UBC’s Faculty of Medicine for their PhD programs at UBC’s School of Population and Public Health. Congratulations!
