Need data? New data access project launched at C&W
A new initiative is being launched to help streamline access to secondary data. The “Data Access Project” aims to increase researchers’ ability to use the extensive C&W data held by Performance Measurement & Reporting (PMR), formerly known as Decision Support, at PHSA.
If you conduct academic or operations research such as grant-funded studies, evaluation or quality improvement projects, the project team wants to hear from you.
BC Children’s Hospital Foundation Annual Report is now available online.The report features inspiring stories about how community and donor support is making a difference in the lives of BC’s children. Be sure to take a look at the graphic novel within the report, which tells the story of how one child’s illness sparks care and compassion in a family, social circle and community.
The research conducted at CFRI is made possible by the support of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. In 2015-2016, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation is providing $12.3-million in funding for children’s health research.
New research leadership role at PHSA
PHSA is initiating the search for a new research leadership role: a Vice President Research and Academic Affairs to provide strategic and scientific leadership for research throughout PHSA. The Vice President will work closely with researchers, clinicians and funding and academic partners to promote a research environment in which world class research is undertaken and applied to improve health outcomes and the health system.
The C&W Redevelopment Project has relaunched their website. The site now includes fun new features like the Video Gallery, the Image Gallery and the People in Profile section. Head over to the new website to see the latest construction information and learn how the Redevelopment Project will improve care on the Oak Street campus.

NeuroDevNet’s Sixth Annual Brain Development Conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, stakeholders and families with children affected by neurodevelopmental conditions. The themes of this year’s conference are sleep and movement.
