UBC Faculty of Medicine Dean Dr. Dermot Kelleher visited CHÉOS as part of his tour of PHCRI on September 9. Dr. Kelleher is the ninth Dean of the UBC Faculty of Medicine, and began his appointment on September 1, 2015. Prior to coming to UBC, his most recent appointment was Vice-President Health and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London, where he also held a concurrent appointment as Dean of the Lee Kong Chian Medical School in Singapore.

PhD student receives fellowship
CHÉOS and UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences PhD Student Atiq Atiquzzaman has received a UBC Andrew Nord Fellowship in Rheumatology. The goals of the fellowship are to find better ways to live with arthritis, the cause of the disease, and ultimately, a cure.
The UBC Faculty of Medicine’s Clinician Investigator Program is hosting a series of workshops from October to December for researchers. There is a Manuscript Peer Review Workshop on October 6 and a Qualitative Research Design & Methodology Workshop on October 8.
Vancouver Students’ Health Economics Network presentation
On October 22 at 5:00 PM, the Vancouver Students’ Health Economics Network is hosting a seminar with special guest Dr. Axel Mühlbacher from Germany. Titled, “Patients’ Preferences and Efficiency Frontiers,” this event will take place in the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences building.
