The Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of funding competitions for MSFHR Scholar and post-doctoral Trainee awards.
Applications for the 2016 Scholar Program will open October 2, and the 2016 Trainee Program will open November 2. On those dates, competition guidelines and instructions will be posted to MSFHR’s website and the MSFHR ApplyNet system will open to receive submissions.
Starting with the 2016 Scholar and Trainee programs, MSFHR is pleased to offer Scholar and post-doctoral fellowship competitions on an annual basis as part of an expanded suite of programs that will broaden and enhance our support for health research and its application in British Columbia.
Steven Jones (2003 & 2008 Scholar) is the leader of a BC research team that will receive $2.2 million from the Terry Fox Foundation to develop new drugs that use the targeted mechanisms of antibodies to kill cancer cells.
Wendy Norman (2012 Scholar) is the recipient of a 2015 PHSA+ Award. PHSA+ Awards were created with a goal of recognizing and celebrating the passionate contributions that PHSA staff make to province-wide health care solutions.
