Subject: 2016 Inaugural CIHR Project: FoM Grant Development support from November
Dear All,
As you are all aware, the CIHR Open Operating Grant Competition no longer exists, however, there will be a 2016 CIHR Project competition. Information has been posted on their website:
Since there is no limit to the number of CIHR Project Grants that may be submitted by an individual PI, we anticipate that there will be many applications in this coming 2016 Spring Competition. The deadlines for the Project competition are very close to the CIHR Foundation Stage 2 deadline thus, the resources towards Grant Development will be increased but still may not be able to provide the same level of support for your Project Grants as we will be stretched on time.
However, FoM wants to provide you with an advance opportunity for grant development (from November 23 – December 23, 2015), with the understanding that some of you may have parts of the application ready in advance and/or might be reworking grants from the last rounds of Operating Grants that were unsuccessful. We very much appreciate that this timeline is very much oriented before the deadline but would be an excellent opportunity as there will be more time available to you with the Grant Development team.
Please send a copy of your draft application(s) to Dr. Elizabeth Cheu elizabeth.cheu@ubc.ca as soon as your draft is ready to take advantage of this early review.
Or if you would like, please feel free to call Elizabeth at 604-822-2327 to discuss your application(s).
Additionally, the FoM in collaboration with SPARC expect to provide workshops prior to the Project registration due date of Jan 18, 2016. Please stay tuned.
