Discover the art and science of mindfulness by signing up for the challenge, or attend an orientation session on January 12 or 13 to find out more before you register.
- Gentle Yoga, January 20
Attend this free Gentle Stretch Yoga class for faculty and staff of all yoga practice levels.
- Ergo Your Office workshop, January 27
Optimize your computer work environment to improve comfort and reduce the risk of injury at this one-hour tutorial.

- Free Week at UBC Recreation, January 11 to 17
UBC Recreation’s Free Week is a chance for the UBC community, including faculty and staff, to try out instructor-led classes for free. Drop-in to fitness, yoga, pilates, dance, and martial arts classes and boot camps – no experience required!
- UBC Triathlon Duathlon – #UBCTriDu, March 5
Join one of BC’s largest and longest-running triathlons! With a wide variety of distances – Olympic, sprint, or short – as well as a duathlon, relay, and kids aquathlon, there is something for everyone at this campus event. While the event isn’t until March, January is a good time to register and train for the triathlon. Early bird registration closes February 7, with regular registration open until February 29.
Corporate health, fitness, and family discounts
Faculty and staff can take advantage of a wide range of discounts both on and off campus, including fitness centres, yoga studios, museums, theatres, and community centres.
