Dr. Grunau receives Early Career Research Initiative funding

CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Brian Grunau has received funding from the Early Career Research Initiative, a partnership between the St. Paul’s Foundation and PHCRI to support young investigators and their research. The funding will support Dr. Grunau’s project, The BC Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) Trial for Refractory Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest.

The role of occupational therapists in mental health

CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Skye Barbic is a guest editor for a special issue of Occupational Therapy Now, focused on the role of occupational therapy in recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation.



New tool to help students overcome social anxiety

CHÉOS Scientist Dr. Chris Richardson is researching the effectiveness of a new online therapy program aimed at helping UBC students overcome social anxiety.

The goal of the treatment program is to use evidence-based techniques to reduce symptoms of social anxiety, unhelpful thoughts, avoidance behaviours, fear of negative evaluations, and improving quality of life in students experiencing above-average social anxiety.
