MBCT Mindfulness-based Cognitive Professional Training

Upcoming 5-day Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) professional retreat training offered at Hollyhock Educational Retreat Center, Manson’s Landing, Cortes Island, BC, Canada, August 27 – September 1, 2017 by Dr. Mark Lau, R.Psych. (www.vancouvercbt.ca/dr_lau.html) and Dr. Andrea Grabovac, MD, FRCPC (www.drgrabovac.com), with Dr. Erin Burrell, MD, FRCPC, providing assistant teaching.
This didactic and experiential training is for mental health professionals interested in learning to teach Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).  MBCT is an empirically validated group treatment program that is specifically designed to address the problem of the re-occurring nature of depression.  In this training you will receive a thorough grounding in the 8-session group MBCT program designed to prevent depressive relapse. This 5 day workshop fulfills one of the requirements for the UCSD Mindfulness-based Professional Training Institute MBCT Qualification and Certification pathways.

We will be focusing on bridging the gap between the MBCT treatment manual and the moment-to-moment process of teaching therapeutic mindfulness skills in a group setting.  Part of this rigorous training will include periods of silence in which you will have the opportunity to deepen your own mindfulness practice.  A certificate of attendance will be provided.

For more details on this workshop and how to register, please go to http://hollyhock.ca/programinfo/lau-grabovac/
