The Women’s Health Research Institute, in partnership with the BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Foundation, is pleased to announce the Genomic Medicine Clinician Scientist Salary Award. This $150,000 award will enable a geneticist to become an independent clinician scientist who leads a world-class genomic medicine research program at the BC Women’s Hospital.
The Genomic Medicine Clinician Scientist Salary Award is open to candidates that hold an MD or equivalent degree, and are certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Medical Genetics and/or by the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists in Clinical Genetics. Candidates must have completed their training within the previous 20 years, and must be working in an area relevant to the mandate of the Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of BC. Lastly, candidates must hold, or be eligible for, an academic appointment as an assistant or associate professor in the UBC Department of Medical Genetics and have an established research project or program in medical genetics and/or be eligible and willing to apply for national and international research grants to fund their research.
