NSERC RTI: Important Program Changes
All UBC researchers planning on submitting applications to the 2017 NSERC Research Tools and Instruments (RTI) competition are reminded of the following important changes NSERC has made to the RTI program:
- Institutional quotas have been eliminated for the RTI program. Therefore, UBC no longer requires an RTI pre-selection application.
- The NSERC RTI competition is open to all eligible researchers. However, applicants are permitted to participate in only one RTI application per competition, either as an applicant or a co-applicant, but not both.
Please note that SPARC is offering a range of RTI support services and materials, available via the RTI webpage on the SPARC website. SPARC is also providing Detailed Reviews for well-developed draft RTI applications, on a first-come/first-served basis.
If interested, please contact David Woods [firstname.lastname@example.org] by Wednesday, September 20th to register for a review (and also cc: Richard Federley [email@example.com] if you are UBC-Okanagan faculty).

A panel of CRD experts and successful applicants will discuss the program following the presentation.
This CRD Workshop will be held on: Wednesday, September 27th, from 1:00-3:00pm.
To complete the required registration form for this event, please see the CRD workshop announcement webpage on the SPARC site.
