On behalf of the Faculty of Medicine, I am pleased to announce: Building the Future: Faculty of Medicine Research Trainee Day & Lecture Series.
This new annual event is designed to showcase the diverse and innovative research of Faculty of Medicine graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, feature lectures from recent senior faculty prize awardees, as well as to provide a venue for the building of new connections and collaborations throughout the Faculty and at all levels.
Building the Future is slated to occur every Winter Term 2, and will be hosted at regularly rotated Faculty of Medicine sites. All Faculty of Medicine trainees, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.
Schedule for 2018:
Date: Friday, February 16, 2018
Time: 9:30 – 6:30 pm, which includes a closing reception
Location: BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute (950 West 28 Avenue)
Building the Future: Faculty of Medicine Research Trainee Day & Lecture Series is currently accepting applications to present from FoM graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, so please consider encouraging your trainee to apply. Note: graduate students and postdoctoral fellows travelling in from outside the GVRD to present their research at Building the Future: Faculty of Medicine Research Trainee Day & Lecture Series are eligible to apply for a small travel stipend. Please direct your trainees to write med.research@ubc.ca for more information.
