Some of you may have been having difficulty with UBC FASmail, including draft e-mail disappearing and delays with sending and receiving. The first reports of these issues were in July, but were very intermittent and difficult to trace. Reports of difficulties with FASmail became more frequent in the past two weeks and seemed only to be a problem for people using Microsoft Outlook, vs webmail.
The UBC IT FASmail team narrowed it down to two of the many FASmail e-mail servers, which they took offline on September 26. Naturally, this created more slowdowns, but less e-mail loss. Microsoft personnel were consulted and changes were made to the e-mail servers, in the evening of September 27. Due to the email server restart, you may be prompted to re-enter your CWL password.
The UBC FASmail team asks that if you are still having difficulties with FASmail, to please report to them by one of the methods listed on https://it.ubc.ca/got-question-about-it-products-and-support
