UBC is entering a period of tremendous opportunity to modernize our approaches and enabling technologies, to improve how we work together as a community of faculty, staff and students.
In the past 12-24 months, the university has initiated major renewal projects across Student Administration, Human Resources and Finance, focused on improving our user’s experience, simplifying processes and selecting new software solutions.
We are pleased to confirm that a proposed technology platform has been identified for the Student Academic System Initiative (SASI). Following extensive community consultation and a thorough evaluation process, the project sponsors have recommended Workday Student as the preferred core solution. This recommendation has been approved by UBC Executive and the Board of Governors.
During this process, we have heard the community’s wishes to make it easier to work across systems that we use to manage student, human resources and financial data and processes. With this in mind, we are embarking on a further consultation about the possibility to use Workday as a core enterprise platform across HR and Finance, in order to leverage the benefits of a fully integrated solution.
Two events have been scheduled, in Vancouver and the Okanagan, to demonstrate the integrated Workday platform and invite feedback. The sessions will take place on November 7 and 8, 2017. You are invited to join one of the events, or view the live webcast.
The demonstrations will be interactive, providing an opportunity for attendees to see first-hand, what an integrated Student, HR and Finance system may look like through ‘Day in the life ’ scenarios for faculty, staff and students. The demonstrations will conclude with a Q&A portion, where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
We strongly encourage you to join one of the events, in order to learn more and share your perspective on a potential integrated system.
