We’re heating things up at UBC Recreation this month! Help support children in need at Lace up for Kids, join us on a guided walk to benefit the homeless, or come check out Vancouver’s only indoor public tennis facility to learn the game. No matter what you choose, you’ll be sure to move!
Free Guided Walk on Campus
Nov 15 from 7-8PM – Help the Homeless!
Join us for a walk around the breathtaking trails of Pacific Spirit Park. Bring a pair of new socks to participate, and UBC’s volunteer club, Agape, will ensure they are distributed to the homeless community in downtown Vancouver.
Did you know that there are over 7000 known rare diseases and one of every three children affected won’t make it to their 10th birthday? You can help transform the world of rare disease research by getting involved – make a team and fundraise, donate to the cause, or join us on Nov 16th for a festival.
If you’re new to tennis, try the Adult 1.0 Clinics (discounts for Staff & Faculty!) or polish up your strokes with our Staff and Faculty Drills – conveniently scheduled during your lunch hour. These drills will cover all strokes in both singles and doubles situations and allow participants to build confidence through repetition. Next batch of programs start up mid-November!
A new recreation and fitness space will be opening at UBC in the Life Building (formerly the UBC Student Union Building) in early 2018. This new recreation space complements the existing campus facilities with another 8,000 sq. ft of fitness space. The new centre is focused on creating a comfortable, welcoming, and inclusive environment for those new to fitness and training activities.
Help shape the experience of the new facility and be a part of new era of fitness at UBC by taking part in a brief survey. All entries will be entered into a draw for free memberships, personal training sessions, and more great prizes. The survey is open until November 30, 2017.
