Networks of Centres of Excellence: Knowledge Mobilization Description: The NCE Secretariat is expected to launch the NCE Knowledge Mobilization Initiative (NCE-KM) in the next few weeks with NOIs and LOIs due in February and Spring 2018, respectively. Given the tight turn-around, we want to start supporting teams interested in applying to this competition as soon as possible. VPRI/SPARC will be hosting a Test Your Concept on January 29th 2018, where teams can present their NCE-KM concepts and get immediate feedback from panelists. Royal Society of Canada: College of New Scholars, Artists & Scientists The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists is Canada’s first national system of multidisciplinary recognition for the emerging generation of Canadian intellectual leadership. It will comprise a fourth entity (along with the current three Academies) within the Royal Society of Canada. Members of the College are Canadians and Permanent Residents who, at an early stage in their career, have demonstrated a high level of achievement.

The BRC-Sequencing Core is offering Faculty of Medicine members a 50% discount on pilot Single Cell 3’ RNA-Seq projects using the 10x Genomics Chromium Single Cell Controller and Illumina Sequencing.
This subsidy is provided by the FoM Strategic Investment Fund and is accessible only to FOM members. Supply of funding is limited. Subsidy will be distributed based on timing of contact, needs of pilot project, and demands of the community.
