The BRC-Sequencing Core is offering Faculty of Medicine members a 50% discount on pilot Single Cell 3’ RNA-Seq projects using the 10x Genomics Chromium Single Cell Controller and Illumina Sequencing.
This subsidy is provided by the FoM Strategic Investment Fund and is accessible only to FOM members. Supply of funding is limited. Subsidy will be distributed based on timing of contact, needs of pilot project, and demands of the community.

Gene researcher for a week program is seeking laboratories, researchers and graduate students to mentor high school students during the 2018 spring break (March 19-23).
The students participating in this five-day program are in grade 11 and 12, and have passion for science and human health research.
Upon acceptance, they will spend five days in a host lab shadowing a scientist or a lab member. The idea is to get a closer look inside the research labs, and if possible do simple experiments (such as DNA extraction, PCR etc.).
