During the past year I have had the great privilege of travelling throughout our beautiful province, meeting faculty, staff and learners along the way. Throughout these travels – from Vancouver Island to Haida Gwaii and the Takla Lake First Nation, the Okanagan to the Fraser Valley – I continue to be inspired by the unity of our shared commitment to excellence, effectiveness, engagement and equity.
I invite you to explore our 2018 Year in Review, where we highlight ten of the most impactful stories from our community this year. Whether it’s through transformative research, training the next generation of health professionals for British Columbia, doing the critical administrative work behind the scenes to support these activities, or giving back to our communities – our people are truly change-makers creating healthier communities here at home and around the world.
Without question, when I consider this past year, we in the Faculty of Medicine community have much to celebrate. None of these achievements would be possible without you. Your individual and collective contributions – in every part of our Faculty and across the province – are enabling us to deliver on our vision to transform health for everyone. I look forward to 2019 with an eager anticipation for what more we will achieve together.
Wishing you all a peaceful and joyous holiday season.
