Recruitment has started for the 2020 TIPP course Year 4 undergraduate small group teaching. I’m writing to ask if you would be interested in being a tutor/facilitator for the “Acute Psychosis & Delirium” session being held in Vancouver at the Diamond Health Care Centre (2775 Laurel Street) on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. A total of 16 tutors are needed.
The session will review the appropriate work-up and management of a patient with acute psychosis. This will include:
- the assessment of risk factors for harm to self or others and assessment of capacity;
- the interpretation of critical investigations for a patient with psychosis, including appropriate laboratory investigations and diagnostic imaging; and,
- the design and implementation of an effective management plan for a patient with psychosis.
Each tutor will be assigned a group of approximately 12 students. The related material (i.e. cases, session manuals) will be forthcoming. Please be advised that there may be a tutor prep meeting scheduled in advance of your session, and a confirmation will be sent out in due time. Compensation for the delivery of this session will be offered according to the UBC Clinical Faculty Agreement based on small group activity.
