Dear Department Members,
We have had a busy few months in the Department’s Research and Scholarly Activity Committee! We are pleased to share that all departmental scholarly activity procedural, policy and support documents are now fully reviewed and updated.
New amongst the resources provided for residents and faculty is a copy of a PowerPoint presentation delivered annually to PGY1 residents detailing the expectations and activities relating to scholarly activity, as well as links to various resources.

And we have some good news for clinical faculty – all mentors providing supervision to residents on their research projects are now eligible for reimbursement from the Program at the standard clinical teaching rate.

As a reminder, the Research and Scholarly Activity Committee is responsible for ensuring that our department’s residency program meets Royal College training objectives for research and scholarly activity. Specific responsibilities include the identification, development, enhancement, promotion, monitoring and evaluation of resident scholarly activity projects, and ensuring that objectives relating to research and scholarly activity are integrated throughout the educational program.
