The Department congratulates Dr. Raymond Lam and Dr. Fidel Vila-Rodriguez, recipients of the BC SUPPORT (Support for People and Patient-Oriented Research and Trials) Unit’s 2020 P2P (Pathway to Patient-Oriented Research) Awards, designed to build and strengthen capacity for patient-oriented research in BC.
Dr. Lam and Dr. Vila-Rodriguez, with their respective Patient Co-Leads and teams, are among ten research leads across BC who received the P2P Award for 2020. For Dr. Lam and his team, the award will fund a feasibility study of recruitment and adherence to light therapy for maintenance treatment of major depressive disorder. As for Dr. Vila-Rodriguez and his NINET lab, they will conduct a patient-oriented randomized pragmatic feasibility trial with rTMS in depression and anxiety.
Offered in partnership with the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR), the P2P Awards provide up to $20,000 to support BC-based health research teams in strengthening a major grant application through a pilot or feasibility study.
Please join us in congratulating both Dr. Lam and Dr. Vila-Rodriguez!
