Clinical Faculty Recognition Survey & Survey Response on the Clinical Faculty Promotion Process

**Sent on behalf of Dr. Marilyn Champagne, Clinical Faculty Representative, UBC Psychiatry**

Dear Department Clinical Faculty,

I would like to thank you for your enthusiastic response to my previous survey request regarding barriers to clinical faculty promotion. In summary:

-62% said you do not know when/if you are eligible for promotion

-62% said that converting your CV into UBC annotated format is onerous and time consuming

-58% said that you do not know/understand the point of clinical faculty promotion

-11% of you said that you apply for clinical faculty promotion/didn’t have much concerns

Many of you gave detailed and insightful comments which have been shared with the Clinical Faculty Advisory Committee and the Department of Psychiatry. We are looking at streamlining the clinical faculty promotion process so that it is less onerous and to encourage more of you to apply for promotion.

We are also looking at clinical faculty recognition. I have included the current awards descriptions and criteria for you to review. We would like to ensure that the awards can offer a variety of recognition, and therefore I would request your help in answering this short survey:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestions!
