You Are Invited: Upcoming Virtual Workshop on “Clinical Teaching in Virtual Settings – Tips, Tricks, Learning from Each Other”

Dear Department Faculty,

Clinical preceptors are invited to participate in an upcoming virtual workshop titled “Clinical Teaching in Virtual Settings – Tips, Tricks, Learning from Each Other” to be offered on Tuesday August 25, 2020 from 7:00-8:30pm.


In this interactive second session on this topic, participants will be provided a forum to share their experiences, tips, tricks, successes and challenges.  No experience in teaching virtually is required to join this session.

This workshop is for faculty who are considering to teach with cases in the Postgraduate Medical Education and Health Professions programs, and others who want to learn.

Date: Tuesday August 25th, 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Panelists: Dr. Krystine Sambor, Dr. Adrian Yee, Dr. Nawaaz Nathoo, Dr. Brent Ohata, Dr. John Pawlovich, Dr. Kelly Saran, and Dr. Renée Janssen

Learning outcomes for participants of this session include:

  • Reflecting on their role as preceptors during the transition from in-person to virtual clinical teaching
  • Optimizing their teaching approach to the virtual clinical environment
  • Identifying potential opportunities, challenges and resources as they navigate virtual clinical teaching environments
  • Creating a network of preceptors who teach in virtual clinical environments
