REGISTRATION NOW OPEN for 2020 UBC Psychiatry Virtual Research Day on October 15th, 2020!

2020 UBC Psychiatry Virtual Research Day

If you are planning to attend our online UBC Psychiatry Virtual Research Day on Thursday October 15th, be sure to register by completing the Online Registration Form. Upon completing and submitting the online form, you will receive a confirmation email containing the Zoom link, Webinar Meeting ID, and Passcode.

Things to remember:

  • Be s ure to save the confirmation email with the Zoom info
  • Log in opens at 8:30am on the day of the event
  • Attendees can re-login at any point should they need to exit, then rejoin, the webinar.

Electronic Posters

Participants must also submit their electronic posters (in PowerPoint format) to Lilla Berry at by Wednesday September 30th.

ePoster Submission Guidelines

  • Your electronic poster must be in PowerPoint, for presentation on the online poster gallery and voting
  • Please send your ePoster to Lilla Berry at by September 30th. If you have a brief audio file you would like to include, please also submit this with your ePoster.
  • ePoster templates are now available on the UBC Psychiatry Research Day web page.

Lightning Talk Presentations

  • Those selected for Lighting Talk Presentation will be contacted during the week of September 25th.
  • Lighting Talk Presentations are short 5-minute presentations (usually 3.5 minutes of speaking, plus 1.5 minutes for questions). Click here to learn more.
  • Please indicate on the Abstract Submission Form if, in addition to presenting an ePoster, you wish to be considered to present a Lightning Talk during our Virtual Research Day.
  • If selected for a Lightning Talk Presentation, the presenter must prepare a brief PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 5 slides. Please submit Lightning Talk slides to


The abstract submission deadline is today! We ask faculty, residents, fellows, students and trainees who wish to present their work on Research Day to please submit their abstracts using the online Abstract Submission Form by the midnight.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Go to the online Abstract Submission Form and upload a copy of your abstract as a single PDF file by September 18th
  • Your abstract must include a descriptive title, and all authors and their affiliated institutions
  • The body of your abstract should not exceed 250 words, and should include:
    • Research Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
