ABSTRACTS

We ask any faculty, residents, fellows, students and trainees who wish to present an electronic poster or be considered for a Lightning Talk for Research Day to please submit their abstracts for review using the  online Abstract Submission Form by the closing date of Sunday April 25th, 2021 (11:59 PST).

Please note: This year, abstracts will NOT be circulated or published online.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Go to the online Abstract Submission Form and upload a copy of your abstract as a single PDF file by Sunday April 25th, 2021
  • Your abstract must include:
    • A descriptive title
    • All authors and their affiliated institutions
    • Funding source (if applicable)
  • The body of your abstract should not exceed 300 words, and should include:
    • Research Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions

ELECTRONIC POSTERS

This year, as there are no physical space limitations, we are happy to accept upon review all ePosters for the virtual poster gallery.

Participants must submit their electronic posters in PowerPoint using the online ePoster Submission Form by Sunday May 16, 2021 (11:59 PST).

 

E-POSTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Your electronic poster must be in PowerPoint, for presentation on the online poster gallery and voting
  • ePoster Templates: UBC has developed a template for ePosters in PowerPoint format, which you are free to use. Simply add your text, images and graphs into these templates to create and customize your ePoster:
  • Adding an audio file to your ePoster:
    • Your audio file should not exceed 2 minutes
    • Ensure that a Sound icon is clearly visible in your ePoster
    • For instructions on how to add audio to your ePoster in Powerpoint, click here
  • Please submit your ePoster online using the online ePoster Submission Form and upload your ePoster as a single PowerPoint file by May 16th.

LIGHTNING TALK PRESENTATIONS

LIGHTNING TALK PRESENTATIONS

  • Lighting Talk Presentations are short presentations, with a brief Q&A session from attendees to the presenters (4-5 minutes of speaking, plus a Q & A session at the end of the set)
  • Please indicate on the Abstract Submission Form if, in addition to presenting an ePoster, you wish to be considered to present a Lightning Talk during our Virtual Research Day.
  • If selected for a Lightning Talk Presentation, the presenter must also prepare a brief PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 3 presentation slides (plus 1 cover slide). Please submit Lightning Talk slides to margaret.koshi@ubc.ca by Sunday May 23rd.
