Call For Virtual Preceptors for Undergraduate Medical Students

**Sent on behalf of Dr. Kathryn Fung, Program Director, Undergraduate Psychiatry Medical Education**

Dear Faculty,

In large part due to the pandemic, our undergraduate medical education program (UGE) has encountered situations in which we are in need of preceptors willing and able to supervise Year 3 or Year 4 undergraduate medical students virtually for a clinical experience or a short research project/activity. Most of these students may be in isolation or awaiting test results and thus not able to participate in person until cleared.

If you are a faculty member (an MD with a clinical faculty appointment, or academic GFT faculty) working anywhere in BC and are interested in supervising a student virtually on an as-needed basis, we invite you to add your name to our “Virtual Preceptor Database” by completing an online sign-up form (link below).

As situations will arise on short-notice, we will contact you by phone and email so you can accept or decline at that time. We are also able to speak to you prior to taking on a student if you have any questions.

Helpful Information

  • Sessions must be virtual.
