Congratulations to Dr. Nichole Fairbrother, who has been awarded a CIHR project grant from the Fall 2020 Competition!
Dr. Fairbrother is the principal investigator on the funded project titled Perinatal Anxiety Disorders Screening Study. The objective of this study will be to identify the most effective tool to screen for perinatal anxiety and anxiety-related disorders (AD). To do this, Dr. Fairbrother and her team will conduct a large scale study of pregnant and postpartum people in which the screening accuracy of a broad range of perinatal AD self report measures are assessed. This will be the first comprehensive study of prenatal AD screening tools in which gold standard methodology is employed. Congratulations on this wonderful news, Nichole!
UBC News has also featured Dr. Fairbrother’s recently published study on the high prevalence of OCD among women in the perinatal period. Read the UBC News article here.
