SAVE THE DATE: 2021 UBC Psychiatry Virtual Research Day is on THURSDAY JUNE 3, 2021

 

Dear Department Members,

We are pleased to announce that our 2021 UBC Psychiatry Virtual Research Day will be held online on Thursday June 3, 2021!

 

With physical distancing measures still in effect due to COVID-19, this year’s Virtual Research Day event will once again bring Department members together online to showcase all the exciting and innovative research taking place across Department and beyond.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

At this time, we invite faculty, residents, fellows, students and trainees who wish to present their work on Virtual Research Day to submit their abstracts using the Online Abstract Submission Form by Sunday April 25th, 2021 (11:59 PST).

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Go to the Online Abstract Submission Form and upload a copy of your abstract as a single PDF file by Sunday April 25th.
  • Your abstract must include a descriptive title, and all authors and their affiliated institutions
  • The body of your abstract should not exceed 300 words, and should include:
    • Research Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions

ELECTRONIC POSTERS

Participants must also submit their electronic posters in PowerPoint using the Online ePoster Submission Form by Sunday May 16th, 2021 (11:59 PST).

ePoster Submission Guidelines

  • Your electronic poster must be in PowerPoint, for presentation on the online poster gallery and voting
  • Please submit your ePoster using the Online ePoster Submission Form, uploading it as a single PowerPoint file by May 16th.
  • If you have a brief audio file you would like to include, please embed this into your ePoster. Further information and instructions regarding audio files are posted on the 2021 UBC Psychiatry Research Day web page.

LIGHTNING TALK PRESENTATIONS

  • Lighting Talk Presentations are short 5-minute presentations (usually 3.5 minutes of speaking, plus 1.5 minutes for questions).
  • Please indicate on the Abstract Submission Form if, in addition to presenting an ePoster, you wish to be considered to present a Lightning Talk during our Virtual Research Day.
  • If selected for a Lightning Talk Presentation, the presenter must also prepare a brief PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 4 slides (1 cover + 3 presentation slides). Please submit Lightning Talk slides to margaret.koshi@ubc.ca by May 16th.
