We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jill Murphy, will join our panel speakers to present on “Advancing Post-COVID19 Mental Health Equity in Asia-Pacific” at our Department’s 2021 Virtual Research Day on Thursday June 3, 2021!
Dr. Murphy is a Research Associate in the UBC Department of Psychiatry and is the Strategic Initiatives Director for the APEC Digital Hub for Mental Health. Her expertise is in global mental health in the Asia-Pacific, with a focus on the implementation and scale-up of community-based depression care. Dr. Murphy is interested in research to address a critical gap in care for people living with mental illness, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, predominantly through the adaptation and scale-up of evidence-based practice. She is currently a co-investigator on various studies in China and Vietnam, and has worked and published in the area of equitable and ethical global health research partnerships. She also has an interest in enhancing meaningful stakeholder engagement in global mental health.
