We are delighted to let you know that the Department of Psychiatry has recently constituted a CPD Advisory Committee to advise the department on how to improve the effectiveness of Continuing Medical Education (CME).
As our current PGY1 Residents in Psychiatry are already following the new Competence by Design (CBD) training scheme, there is a strong desire on the part of various medical advisory and regulatory organizations to bring post-residency medical education in line with this initiative, so that in future there is an increased focus on improving competency and performance. For those of you who have not already read the key documents, we direct you to https://www.cpdcoalition.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/FMEC-CPD_Synthesized_EN_WEB.pdf and https://fmrac.ca/physician-continuous-quality-improvement/.
Currently, the committee is at the stage of gathering information, and we think it would be helpful to collect information/data of BC psychiatrists’ current experience of CPD and to understand your views on how this might be improved. We ask you to take a few minutes to complete this short survey: https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_abipWYisvGBAvwq. The survey will remain open until July 16, 2021. We anticipate that a more detailed survey will be developed for your in-depth feedback in the near future.
Should you have questions or encounter any issues with the survey, please reach out to Vicky Yau, Director, Administration, at email@example.com.
