A condition of continued appointment for Clinical Faculty members is the submission of the Annual Report of activities related to their UBC appointment every year. The report covers the preceding academic year from July 1 to June 30 and is due by October 1. These reports are required to maintain your appointment in good standing and factor heavily into decisions about reappointment and promotion.
While there is no minimum for contribution hours per year for Clinical Instructors, those without any contribution hours for the preceding academic year must email Bree Wilson, Assistant HR Manager, and provide a written request and rationale for keeping their appointment active. The requirement for those at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor or above is 50 hours of service over a two-year span. If you do not submit an Annual Report (or contact Amity Chiang) for two consecutive years, the Department will assume you are no longer actively participating in UBC-related activities and your appointment will be deactivated.

Note: Please provide the names of residents you have taught or supervised, if possible. It is advisable to maintain records of your students, and they may be available to you from the One45 Teaching and Evaluation Database. The Annual Report captures both compensable and non-compensable activities and is not intended for invoicing and/or payment processes.
